What a Marrakech stag do actually costs
A Marrakech stag do costs less per head than most people expect, because the villa is priced as a whole house rather than per person. Split between twelve, a private estate with a pool and a cook can land between £50 and £120 each per night, and that is before you have paid for a single hotel room.

The per-head maths
Villas are quoted per night for the whole property. Divide by the group and the figure looks very different from a hotel quote.
Villa Isaac sleeps fourteen and is listed from £680 a night, which is £49 a head. Medalion Palace sleeps twenty-eight from £1,500, about £54 each. Palace Shayanne sleeps forty-four from £2,500, roughly £57 a head, and it has a gym, three bars and an underground wellness area with a hammam and sauna.

What to budget beyond the villa
Flights are the variable. Marrakech Menara Airport takes direct flights from Heathrow, Gatwick, Luton, Stansted and Southend, as well as Paris, Amsterdam, Frankfurt, Madrid and other European hubs, so a weekend works from most of Europe.
Check everyone's passport before deposits are paid. GOV.UK's entry requirements allow British citizens 90 days without a visa for tourism, but the passport must be valid for at least three months after arrival — the detail that catches one man in every group.
Then budget for transfers, a chef or eating out, and whatever activities you book. Quad biking in the Agafay desert, golf, a hammam, karting and a night out in Gueliz are the usual list, and most groups do two of them rather than four.
Build in a slow day. Stags that try to fill every hour tend to spend the last one arguing about the bill.
The rules worth knowing before you book
Morocco is relaxed with visitors, but a few laws differ from home and they are the ones that catch stag groups out. The GOV.UK travel advice for Morocco is the source to check before you travel.
Alcohol is available in licensed venues, but drinking in the street or anywhere other than a licensed restaurant or bar is illegal and can lead to arrest. Buy in licensed shops, drink at the villa or in bars, and do not carry cans between the two.
Drugs are the serious one. Morocco has a zero-tolerance approach, cannabis included, and possession carries long jail sentences and heavy fines. No stag weekend is worth that.
Drink at the villa or in a licensed bar, never in the street. That single rule avoids most of the trouble groups get into.
A few more worth knowing. Same-sex sexual relations are illegal in Morocco and public displays of affection can lead to prosecution. Drones need permission from the civil aviation authority before you bring one into the country.
Always ask before photographing people, and never photograph military or political sites. During Ramadan, eating, drinking, smoking or swearing in public during daylight causes offence, so keep it to the villa.
Nobody remembers the stag who behaved. Everybody remembers the one who got arrested for a street beer.
On safety, GOV.UK notes that quad bike accidents involving British nationals happen regularly in resort areas and that providers may not meet UK standards, so wear the helmet and book through a licensed operator. Pickpocketing is common in tourist areas, unlicensed taxis are best avoided, and counterfeit alcohol has caused methanol poisoning, so buy from licensed shops and bars only.
Villa house rules, and why they matter
Our houses come with rules that matter more for a stag than any other booking: no smoking or vaping inside, no outside visitors without prior approval, and the maximum occupancy is the maximum. Estates are in residential areas or gated compounds with staff living on site, so a party that runs to 4am with strangers at the gate is the one thing that will end a stay early.

Book the house for the pool and the bedrooms, not the bar. Every villa can pour a drink; not every villa sleeps fourteen properly.
What to actually book
Two set-pieces and one long lunch is the shape of a good weekend. Quad bikes or buggies in the Agafay desert on the Saturday morning, a hammam or a pool afternoon to recover, and dinner cooked at the villa so nobody is negotiating a table for fourteen at 9pm.

How much should each person pay in total?
For a three-night weekend in a mid-range villa, most groups of twelve land between £450 and £700 a head all in, including flights, the villa, a chef night, one activity and a night out. Cut the activity and cook at the villa and it drops further.
Do you need to tell the owner it is a stag do?
Yes. We ask because some houses are in gated residences with neighbours, and a few owners simply do not take stag groups. Being upfront gets you a house that welcomes you instead of a difficult conversation on arrival.

What is the best month for a stag do in Marrakech?
March to May and September to November give warm, dry days without the peak summer heat. July and August are cheaper but reach the high thirties, which suits groups who plan to stay by the pool.
How many people can one villa take?
