Cheap Luxury Villas in Marrakech: The Price Per Person

Cheap Luxury Villas in Marrakech: The Price Per Person

The number that matters is the price per person

Cheap luxury villas in Marrakech start at £500 a night in our collection, and that rate is for the whole house. So the useful number is not the nightly rate. It is the rate divided by the people sleeping there.

On that measure the cheapest house is not the £500 one. It is Villa Anissa: £678 a night, nine bedrooms, about £38 each when 18 of you share it.

This guide ranks every villa in our Entry Luxury tier by what each guest pays, then picks the best fit for each group size.

Why the lowest rate can cost you more

Take eight friends. Villa Emilie has four bedrooms, sleeps eight and is listed from £600 a night. That is £75 each.

Villa Indigo has five bedrooms, sleeps ten and is listed from £500. With the same eight people, that is £62.50 each, and there is a spare room.

The house rate does not change with the number of guests. A bigger house at a lower rate can beat a smaller one on every count.

Don't search for your exact group size. Compare the price per person, then check the bedrooms.

Every Entry Luxury villa, ranked by price per person

We tier every villa by its lowest nightly rate. Entry Luxury covers £500 to £999 a night. These are all 18 houses in that tier, cheapest per person first.

"Per person, full" is the lowest listed rate divided by the number the house sleeps. Every house is let to one group at a time, so the pool and garden are never shared. Our guide to Luxury Private Villas: What Private Should Really Mean covers what else to check.

The best value for your group size

Six to ten guests

Villa Indigo and Villa Saada are the lowest nightly rates in the tier, at £500 each. Both have five bedrooms.

Villa Indigo is inside the Noria Golf Club estate. It costs £600 in December and £500 the rest of the year. Villa Saada sits in a plot of 10,000 square metres with a 15-metre infinity pool and a pétanque court.

If a golf view matters more than the price, Villa Emilie is in the Amelkis resort, with an infinity pool facing the course. It sleeps eight.

Twelve guests

Villa Jude is the cheapest twelve-bed house, from £657 a night. That rate only applies in certain months (see the seasons below).

Villa Marble, from £720, is in a gated residence about 12 kilometres from the centre. Its heated infinity pool has a beach area for children.

Fourteen guests

Villa Isaac is the clear pick. Seven bedrooms, seven bathrooms, a pool with a large jacuzzi beside it, and staff including a cook and security. At £680 a night, that is about £49 each.

Eighteen to twenty guests

Villa Anissa sleeps 18 in nine en-suite bedrooms, set in its own olive grove. It is the lowest price per person in the tier.

For 20, look one tier up. Palais Qamar and Palais Firdaous each have ten bedrooms and are listed from £1,017 a night. Full, that is about £51 each, which is less per person than most of the houses in the table above. Palais Qamar has a hammam and an infinity pool. Palais Firdaous has ten suites across 1,300 square metres.

Paying more for the house can mean paying less per person.

The listed rate is not always your rate

The "from" price is the lowest rate a house charges. Some houses charge more in busy months, and the difference is large.

Villa Jude is £657 a night in January, February, March, June, July, August and November. It is £808 in April, May and September, £1,020 in October and £1,420 in December. A week in June costs £4,599. The same week in October costs £7,140.

Villa Sable is £741 in January, February, June and July, £938 from March to May and August to November, and £1,086 in December. It also has a four-night minimum stay.

At all three houses with seasonal rates in this tier, December is the most expensive month. If your dates can move, ask us for the rate on either side of them.

Meals are usually charged per person, on top of the rate for the house

What the rate does not include

Meals. They are usually charged per person. At Villa Isaac, for example, breakfast by the pool is £6 a person, dinner £17 and full board £32. Children under 10 pay half and under-5s are free.

Pool heating, at some houses. Villa Saada's infinity pool can be heated for an extra charge. Villa Marble's pool is heated, but not in summer. Ask before you book if you are travelling between November and March.

Early arrival and late departure. At Villa Isaac, check-in from 11am and check-out at 4pm cost £170 each.

Add these up for your group before you compare two houses.

Below £500: when Budget is the better buy

Our Budget tier, under £500 a night, includes some houses that compare well with Entry Luxury.

Villa Marleanis is an example. It has five en-suite bedrooms for 13, a pool heated all year at no extra cost, and daily housekeeping. It is about ten minutes from Jemaa el-Fna. It is £387 a night from June to August, about £30 each when full. It is £473 in January, February and September, and £558 from March to May and October to December.

It sits in the Budget tier because tiers follow the lowest rate. At £558 in high season, it costs more a night than Villa Indigo or Villa Saada.

Who this tier does not suit

Couples. A four-bedroom house costs the same for two as for eight, so the per-person maths stops working. Our guide to Luxury Villas for Couples in Marrakech: 6 Private Picks covers houses chosen for two.

Very large groups. Ksar Zaytoune Estate has 20 bedrooms for 40 guests, from £7,000 a night, or about £175 each. It is a different kind of trip, not a cheaper one.

If you want more space and staff and can pay for it, compare the higher tiers on our luxury villas in Marrakech page. If you are weighing a villa against a hotel, Top Marrakech Holiday Deals: Family, Romantic & Luxury Stays covers the hotel side.

Before you travel

On a British passport you do not need a visa for a holiday. GOV.UK's entry requirements for Morocco say you can stay up to 90 days, and your passport must be valid for at least three months after you arrive.

Most of the houses above are outside the city. The old walled city, the medina, is a UNESCO World Heritage Site; Wikipedia's guide to Marrakesh has its history.
