Villa Sable is entirely new: a 460-square-metre contemporary house at the heart of a large, fully enclosed private estate off the Ourika road, just behind Les Jardins de l'Atlas. Nothing overlooks it, the grounds are guarded day and night, and the loudest thing in the garden is the birdsong in the olive trees.

Inside, two large lounges let a group spread out, and a long, light-filled dining room looks onto the garden and pool. The modern kitchen has a central island and plenty of storage, and the whole house is air-conditioned.

Six large suites each have their own dressing room and private bathroom, and each has its own decor, from lilac velvet to blue toile to a black-lacquered suite. Two suites go further, with a freestanding bathtub in the bedroom itself, facing the wide picture windows.

Outside, the 12 × 5 metre pool is fitted with a safety alarm and paired with a jacuzzi and a sunken fire-pit lounge under shade sails. The wide lawns and olive trees hold a pétanque court, hammocks and a barbecue, and on clear days the snow-capped Atlas stands on the horizon. There is also a hammam and a gym.

Daily housekeeping is included, and a cook is available throughout your stay. Pool and jacuzzi heating, airport transfers, drivers, excursions and special touches are arranged on request.

Rates: from £741 per night in low season (January, February, June and July), £938 in peak season (March to May and August to November), and £1,086 over Christmas and New Year. Prices are for the whole villa, with a minimum stay of four nights.
